Business Experience

The name of the Vinmec cord blood bank is "Vinmec Tissue Bank" (Ngân hàng mô Vinmec ). The Vinmec Tissue Bank is a non-profit multi-tissue bank embedded in the Vinmec Health Care System, directly under the management of Vinmec International General Hospital Joint Stock Company. Vinmec has seven hospitals across Vietnam. Vinmec also has a strong commitment to medical tourism services. The Vinmec Healthcare System is owned by Vingroup, which offers an "ecosystem" of services which also include Vinpearl hotels and resorts, Vinhome residences, Vinfast automobiles, and VinWonders entertainment.

Processing Method

At Vinmec, cord blood samples are stored using the fully automatic AXP system and stored in the automated BioArchive freezer filled with liquid nitrogen.

Licensing & Accreditation

The Vinmec cord blood bank was first established in 2014. Since Feb. 2020, Vinmec has been licensed by the Ministry of Health as a multi-tissue bank to handle many forms of biological samples.

In 2022, Vinmec Tissue Bank achieved AABB certification for both Cord Blood activities and Somatic Cell (Cord Tissue) activities. This double accreditation put Vimec in the lead, becoming 1 of 2 banks in Southeast Asia, as well as 1 of 24 tissue banks in the world to achieve certification for both areas of operation.
