Hortman Clinics has launched the first GMP stem cell banking and molecular laboratory in Dubai. The cord blood bank plans to offer both private storage and public donation. Banking of birth tissues are also offered: cord tissue segments, cord tissue cells that have been culture expanded, as well as options to store part of the placenta tissue, the amnion, or the vessels of the umbilical cord. The laboratory has GMP clean rooms that can be used to culture stem cells for clinical applications. The laboratory includes an in-house molecular and genomics facility that can be used to offer real-time PCR and Next Generation Sequencing.
