LifeSouth Cord Blood Bank is a public donation program of LifeSouth Community Blood Centers. LifeSouth established the first public cord bank in the Southeastern United States and in June 2013 received the FDA BLA license for cord blood.
In late 2024, The Valdosta Times reported that South Georgia Medical Center (SGMC) is expanding its Women and Infants services to offer moms-to-be a “unique birthing experience based on their individual needs,” according to hospital representatives. SGMC welcomes more than 2,000 babies annually.
