iVF Riga Stem Cell Centre is the first and the only stem cell laboratory located in the territory of Latvia, thus it is closer to your baby’s birthplace. iVF Riga Stem Cell Centre owns their laboratory and it operates to GMP standards. All services are regulated in accordance with the legislation of Latvia, and the patient always has an opportunity to ensure that the stem cells are being stored in accordance with the established standards.

Business Experience

Since 2016, the Stem Cell Centre operates as a department of the iVF Riga Infertility Treatment and Reproductive Genetics Clinic. Today, iVF Riga Stem Cell Centre has more than 500 samples in storage.

Collection Kit

iVF Riga Stem Cell Centre provides parents with a specialized cord blood collection kit which contains all of the necessary contents for the safe umbilical cord blood collection with CPDA-1 blood collection bag.

Transportation container

iVF Riga Stem Cell Centre transportation container includes a temperature logger.

Shipping Info

Employees of iVF Riga pick up the blood from selected hospitals. The Stem Cell Centre laboratory is open on weekends and holidays.

Processing Method

iVF Riga Stem Cell Centre employs automated Sepax cell separation.

Components Stored

Samples are stored in a buffy coat holding stem cell concentrate plus testing portions. Parents are provided with a certificate describing test results: volume of stem cell concentrate, cell counts, viability, infection test results, blood type, sterility results.

Storage Method

Final storage is in specialized concentration stem cell bags. Samples are encased in over wrap and specialized storage cassettes. Temporary storage in quarantine freezer, after negative NAAT infection results, samples are moved to the long-term storage freezer. All samples are stored in liquid nitrogen.
