Labs and Locations

MEDEZE owns and operates a specialized laboratory in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. The facility features an ISO Class 7 Clean Room (Class 100) for processing all cell types, certified by the National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) of the United States.

MEDEZE utilizes automated equipment for Hematopoietic Stem Cell isolation and preservation to ensure the highest obtainable cell counts, while our monitoring systems guarantee that all biological assets are maintained in pristine condition. Furthermore, an advanced Laboratory Information System is implemented to support electronic recordkeeping, ensuring faster processing, improved accuracy, and enhanced trace-back capability.

Business Experience

MEDEZE was established in 2010 by a team of medical doctors and academic experts in stem cell medicine, MEDEZE has built a significant track record in biological preservation. Since its inception, the company has successfully managed over 500 cases of Hematopoietic Stem Cell saving derived from Umbilical Cord Blood and over 1,500 therapy cases utilizing Mesenchymal Stem Cell saving. Over the years, MEDEZE has remained at the forefront of technical innovation, expanding its expertise from Umbilical Cord Blood storage to include Umbilical Cord Tissue and Adipose Tissue, thereby providing comprehensive stem cell banking services for the entire family.

Collection Kit

For Umbilical Cord Blood saving, MEDEZE uses the standard National Blood Center (NBC) Blood Bag designed to collect the highest amount of Umbilical Cord Blood in the shortest time with minimal contamination risk. The blood bag contains 28 ml of CPD coagulant, includes tubing for external port connection and safety seals suitable for labor room usage, has a maximum volume of 200 ml with an average collected volume of 120 ml, features built-in DMSO extension for micro infusion and air-assisted extraction, includes an integrated blood sampling bag for contamination-free sampling, and is equipped with a needle protector for safety.

For Umbilical Cord Tissue and Adipose Tissue, MEDEZE uses Thermoscientific Tissue Containers made of ultraclear polypropylene with polyethylene leak-proof caps. These containers include clear graduations and frosted labeling areas, are individually packaged, and are suitable for collection during vaginal delivery, Caesarean section, or abdominoplasty procedures.

Transportation container

MEDEZE uses clinically proven temperature-controlled containers to ensure the highest cell viability. During transportation, Umbilical Cord Blood, Umbilical Cord Tissue, and Adipose Tissue samples are maintained between 4–25°C.

Shipping Info

MEDEZE provides courier collection service to all our clients in Thailand; For international cases, the representative of our branch in the respective country hand carries the sample to Suvarnabhumi (BKK) and Don Mueng (DMK) airport and picked up by our courier. Our collection team nurses prepare all the collection equipment for both natural delivery and caesarean section. Our team will assist your obstetrician and ensure that all the collection procedures are followed.

•  For Bangkok Metropolitan Areas, the samples will be delivered to the laboratory within 6 hours.
•  For Provincial Areas, the samples will be delivered to the laboratory within 36 hours.
•  For International cases, the samples will be delivered to the laboratory within 48 hours.

The price and the shipping fees are already included in the MEDEZE contract.

Processing Method

Upon arrival at the MEDEZE laboratory, every Umbilical Cord Blood collection is immediately inspected by a Quality Control Inspector to assess volume, sterility, viability, and cell count. We utilize the AutoXpress® Platform (AXP®), a fully automated, FDA-approved cell separation system that eliminates human error. This advanced platform ensures the highest possible stem cell yield, capturing up to 98% from the collection bag, while maintaining an average viability recovery for Umbilical Cord Blood stem cells of more than 95%.

Components Stored

MEDEZE processes Umbilical Cord Blood without any unnecessary additives, utilizing the AXP® system to effectively reduce red blood cells and decrease the likelihood of complications in future use. Each sample is stored in a dual-compartment Cryobag that includes two integrally attached testing portions for precision. Upon completion of the storage process, MEDEZE provides a personalized certificate detailing the stem cell type, total nucleated cell count, total stem cell count, Cryobag identification number, volume, viability ratio, viability recovery ratio, and the results of the Umbilical Cord Blood sterility test.

Storage Method

As a leading stem cell cryopreservation provider in Thailand, MEDEZE utilizes seamless Cryobags to secure Umbilical Cord Blood in the best possible condition. Each blood bag is distinctively labeled and protected within a stainless steel cassette for maximum security. Our storage system maintains these units in a vapor-phase environment at -196° Celsius above a vat of liquid nitrogen. This specialized method ensures the samples remain at the same critical temperature as the liquid nitrogen while avoiding direct immersion, effectively preventing potential cross-contamination. Furthermore, each unit is infused with a research-proven cryopreservative agent specifically designed to maintain high cell viability even after more than 20 years of storage.
