iCORD is the CHA Medical Center's cord blood bank. iCORD is located in the CHA BIO complex that opened in May 2014.

Business Experience

CHA Medical Center is famous for running clinical trials using cord blood stem cells as therapy for Cerebral Palsy, under the direction of lead investigator MinYoung Kim, MD PhD. They also treat patients outside of trials, such as this case story.

Gangnam CHA Women's Hospital is operating a MY Cell Banking program that stores stem cells according to the life cycle in preparation for resistant or degenerative diseases due to aging. At birth, stem cells from umbilical cord blood and placenta are stored. From infancy, teeth and foreskin stem cells are stored. In the adult stage, stem cells from adipose tissue and peripheral blood are stored to maintain immunity and prepare for aging.

CHA Biotech's sales exceeded 1 trillion won ($ 710 million) in 2024. The financial success is due to the growth of its overseas hospital business and the success of its cell-related business.
