About

BioBridge Global (BBG) Advanced Therapies operates a cGMP laboratory that serves as a hub for cell and tissue processing services. These services include collection and biobanking of blood cells, in-house analytical testing, and biomanufacturing of cellular therapies.

Previous names for the cord blood bank were the Texas Cord Blood Bank or the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center, and previously BioBridge Global was called GenCure.

BBG Advanced Therapies, located in San Antonio, is strategically located to collect cord blood units that reflect the rich ethnic diversity of Texas. Cord blood can be used to treat patients with certain cancers and fatal blood disorders, but it is important to have collections that match the genetics of the patients. BBG Advanced Therapies also collects donations of birth tissue that can be used to prepare wound dressings and develop cellular therapies.
