The Singapore Cord Blood Bank (SCBB) is located within KK Women's and Children's Hospital. Since beginning operations in 2004, SCBB has become a national health resource that serves the diverse ethnic population in and around Singapore. Support for the bank comes from a combination of national health services, public welfare organisations, and philanthropic foundations.
Cord blood donations to the SCBB public bank are listed on the US-based National Marrow Donor Program registry Be The Match. By mid-2014, SCBB had built an inventory of over 11 thousand donations and released 156 cord blood transplants, 82 of them local and 74 international.
