Banka pupečníkové krve CR (Bank Cord Blood Donor Czech Republic) was established as a nonprofit public bank run by the Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in Prague. Its mission is to ensure the collection, processing, testing and cryopreservation of cord blood donation.

2020 update: "Dear visitors and supporters of the project. Due to the development of other methods of treatment of hematopoietic tissue transplants, we decided not to take additional umbilical cord blood. (This does not apply to consumption in families with a sick child to whom a sibling is born.) Stored grafts will continue to be available to any patient worldwide. Inquiries about these grafts from transplant centers are constantly coming to us.We would like to thank everyone, especially the mothers who decided to donate and went through all the necessary examinations with us.
