Life Line Stem Cell

Life Line Stem Cell is strictly a procurement organization that works with a variety of different biobanks and laboratories. Life Line Stem Cell does not perform any blood or tissue processing; all donations are sent to their partner laboratories.

Life Line Stem Cell has contracts to work in selected hospitals, where they rely on their own staff to obtain informed consent and perform the collection. Life Line Stem Cell aims to collect all of the perinatal stem cell sources: cord blood, cord tissue, and the placenta. Life Line Stem Cell does not have the ability to staff their partner hospitals 24/7, but they do their absolute best to approach every mother when she comes in for delivery. Mothers also have the option to preregister with Life Line Stem Cell, but it is not mandatory.

Donated cord blood that is suitable for transplant goes to one of the Be The Match public banks that partner with Life Line Stem Cell. At present these are Cord For Life and LifebankUSA.
