Registration Open for the AABB 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting
AABB invites members of the blood and biotherapies community to register for its 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting, to be held Oct. 3-5.
The AABB Annual Meeting is always one of the preeminent events for professionals in the field of transfusion medicine and biotherapies. This year’s AABB meeting presents a unique opportunity for colleagues across the country and throughout the world to connect, share the latest research, and discuss the future of the field. As the challenges of the ongoing pandemic continue, the AABB Annual Meeting will be an important time to come together to share knowledge and best practices that will help advance research and donor and patient care.
Though the 2020 event will be held virtually, AABB has ensured that this year’s meeting will include the same practice-changing information on the field’s hottest topics and the latest scientific research from top experts that are always featured at AABB’s Annual Meeting. This year’s meeting will comprise myriad scientific sessions, dozens of oral abstracts and more than 300 scientific posters – all covering some of the most critical and dynamic topics in the field. The event will also include an interactive exhibit hall where industry partners will showcase practice-changing advancements, networking spaces for attendees to connect with colleagues near and far, and plenty of opportunities for continuing education credits, professional development and fun.
The 2020 AABB Annual Meeting’s Program Guide is now available, showcasing the event’s robust curriculum. The program includes sessions on the wide range of key topic areas pertinent to the field, including cellular and genetic therapies, sickle cell disease, pediatric care, hematopoietic stem cells, cord blood, platelet transfusion, genotyping, inventory management, biological product collection and utilization – and much, much more.
“The 2020 AABB Annual Meeting curriculum addresses educational needs for the breadth of attendees’ professional backgrounds – from basic science research to biotherapies to blood collection centers and clinical-based services. The 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting will provide attendees with the opportunity to learn and advance their career,” said Gayle Wehrli, MD, MBA, MSEd, chair of the AABB Annual Meeting Education Committee. “In the transition to a virtual meeting, we have taken great strides to ensure all accepted sessions will be presented in a virtual, live or on-demand format. These sessions will span topics from the cutting-edge to returning favorites, and will exceed expectations. Whether you are a first-time or returning attendee, we will not disappoint. Join us!”
