Vita 34 was the first private umbilical cord blood bank in Europe and now has more than 18 years of experience in this field. With cord blood inventory over 127,000, Vita 34 is the clear market leader in the German-speaking countries and is also the leader in Europe for cord blood therapies from private storage, with 29 successful applications of umbilical cord blood.

Vita 34 offers cross-over public banking via the VitaplusDonation program: Parents who qualify can have their cord blood typed and listed on a registry for patients who need matching transplants. Vita 34 will refund parents theirs costs, if the cord blood is used for a foreign patient in the VitaplusDonation program.

Vita 34 operates their own GMP laboratory at their headquarters in Leipzig. Vita 34 is the only private stem cell bank that has the permissions from the Paul-Ehrlich-Institute an Agency of the German Federal Ministry of Health and the Federal Institute for Vaccines and Biomedicines, to dispense umbilical cord blood medical therapies for use either by siblings and unrelated patients.
