Biohellenika SA is a biotechnology company focusing on cell cryopreservation and support of cell therapies. The company is accredited by AABB for cord blood banking and the Hellenic National Accreditation System (ESYD) for quality control tests. In addition to cord blood, Biohellenika can also store mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) from umbilical cord, dental pulp, and adipose tissues as well as fibroblasts and chondrocytes for autologous use. Additional cord blood from the placenta can also be collected and stored. Biohellenika was founded and functions under the responsibility of the physicians Dr. George Koliakos and Dr. Kouzi-Koliakou, who belong to the Aristotle University Medical School Faculty.
