Saneron accepts MAIL-IN DONATIONS NATIONWIDE. Mothers must register by week 36 of pregnancy.
Saneron accepts cord blood donations to be used in research on therapies for neurological disorders like Alzheimer's disease and ALS. Saneron CCEL Therapeutics Inc. is a biotechnology R&D company that conducts research in partnership with the University of South Florida (USF). We profiled their program in our August 2013 newsletter.
Through 2016, Saneron allowed mothers to register for cord blood donation up to week 40 of their pregnancy. They did not need a great deal of lead time to conduct a maternal health screening, because the cord blood was used in animal research, not in humans.
Starting in 2017, Saneron will be using cord blood in a clinical trial on humans, and now greater screening of their donations is required. Mothers who wish to donate to Saneron now must register by week 36 of pregnancy, in order to allow for a high level of donor screening.
