Cryo-Cell México was founded in 2002 and offers nationwide service and strategic alliances with leading hospitals. Cryo-Cell México was acquired by CryoHoldCo, asubsidiary of ACON Investments, in 2015. They continue to operate their own secure laboratory and storage facility in Guadalajara México.

Collection Kit

Supplies are provided for gravity collection of cord blood, along with a sterile collection bag. The anti coagulant is Citrate Phosphate Dextrose Solution (CPD).

Shipping Info

Shipping costs are covered as part of the Cryo-Cell México contract. The samples will be collected at the hospital of origin by employees of Cryo-Cell México and will be transported in containers with thermal insulation to our processing facility.

Processing Method

Cryo-Cell México separates stem cells from your child's blood collection with the fully automated Sepax processing system from the Swiss company Biosafe. The Sepax system maintains a testing segment of cord blood integrally attached to the main storage bag, which serves as quality control and ensures that the storage conditions are the same in the testing segment and the whole sample. The Sepax processing system is the most advanced processing system currently used by the most prestigious cord blood banks in the world.

Components Stored

Parents who are clients of Cryo-Cell México are provided with a certificate describing all test results from cord blood and maternal blood (includes cell counts, CD34+ assay of mononuclear cells, virus antibodies, bacterial contamination).

Storage Method

Cryo-Cell México storage is in cryo-bags. Prior to final storage, each cryo-bag is placed in a second overwrap layer of plastic, which is hermetically sealed as an extra precaution against possible cross contamination. The cord blood units are stored in cryogenic nitrogen that creates a vapor-phase environment kept at minus 196 degrees Celsius.

• Cryo-Cell México offers a $50,000 Engraftment Guarantee:
In the event that a client's cord blood, which was processed and stored by Cryo-Cell México, is used for transplant and fails to engraft, we will pay the client $50,000.

• Cryo-Cell México Quality Assurance Guarantee:
If one of the parents dies, Cryo-Cell México gives the child annuity payments up to 21 years of age.

• Cryo-Cell México Shipping Worldwide Guarantee:
In case the stem cells are needed for transplant to treat one of the diseases with approved protocols, Cryo-Cell México provides support and advice to you on delivery of stem cells anywhere in the world. This insurance requires validation by the Medical Director. *

• Cryo-Cell México Guarantee for low blood volume:
If the stem cells of your baby cannot be processed because the weight of the cord blood is equal to or less than 75g, Cryo-Cell México offers a special discount of $100 on your next contract.  *

• Cryo-Cell México Guarantee for low number of stem cells:
In the case that the blood sample, at the time of processing, presents a final count below 0.30 (zero point thirty) million stem cells (CD34+), the client will be released from the obligation to pay annuities for conservation and their specimen if cryogenically stored will remain free in Cryo-Cell Méxicon  facilities.*

Community Service

Cryo-Cell México has a support program which offers free collection, processing, and storage when a family member has been diagnosed with a life-threatening disease (active disease or recent remission) currently treatable with donor stem cell transplant. This program requires a validated medical history and a socio-economic study to support the request for assistance.

Cryo-Cell México supports institutions and foundations dedicated to children with cancer: MUDAC (Mi último deseo AC)  and Mi Gran Esperanza AC.

Prices

• $1,195 covers processing, testing and the first year annual storage fee.
• Thereafter, annual storage is $150 per year.
• Discounts available if storage prepaid for 5, 10, 15 or 20 years.
• Payment plans available (3, 6, 9 and 12 months)
