About

Bank Director: Cecilia Langenskiöld, MD

The Swedish National Cord Blood Bank was started in 2006 at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Göteborg.

The Swedish National Cord Blood Bank is a universal bank, meaning it is available for all people in the world. Fundraising for private use is not possible. The bank operates completely non-profit and funded by the government, Tissue Directive, Sweden's municipalities and county councils and Childhood Cancer.

If you want to donate, talk to your midwife at your maternity clinic. The midwife then writes this into the journal. The decision is not binding, of course you have the right to change your mind at any time. But also if you give birth at Karolinska University Hospital Huddinge you can donate cord blood.
