UCCBB public bank has (web viewing Aug. 2013) consented over 30,000 women and banked over 8500 cord blood units, of which more than 660 have been transplanted at 125 different transplant centers in the United States and abroad. Colorado taxpayers have an option on their state tax return to donate to the ADULT STEM CELLS CURE FUND, which provides resources to encourage and enable new mothers across Colorado to donate their babies' umbilical cord blood to a public cord blood bank.

Cord blood collections from hospitals in Arizona are made through a program of the Arizona Biomedical Research Commission. The web site of the AZ Dept. of Health Services states that this cord blood collection program is funded for 3 years by Arizona state lottery money and a HRSA grant.
