The private cord blood bank Cryo-Cell, in an exclusive partnership with Plureon Corporation, plans to launch a service to collect stem cells from the placenta.
The new collection procedure will be demonstrated live by webcast at 6 PM (EDT) on 6 June 2006. The collection will occur during a cesarean delivery at Northwest Medical Center in Margate, FL and carried by OR-Live.com. Accompanying the collection will be a live panel discussion on the future therapeutic potential of stem cells from cord blood and the placenta. Viewers will have the opportunity to ask questions live via the internet.
