Business Experience

ReeLabs is an independent company with zero debt; they are presently 10 crore company with a working capital of 100 crores that has recently ventured into cord blood banking and stem cell research and therapy.  ReeLabs was founded by 3 promoters:
Mr. Sunil Pophale (Managing Director and Chief Promoter): Graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.), Powai, 1979. Mr. Pophale is a renowned entrepreneur with a wealth of over 28 years experience in brand building. He has a proven track record as a founder and chief promoter of Fem Care Pharma Ltd. listed with the Bombay Stock Exchange that has many notable products like bleach, soaps, medicines, etc. He monetised his stake to Dabur in 2009 and entered this field.
Dr. Abhijit Bopardikar and Dr. Rohit Kulkarni (both Directors) are the other 2 promoters who are qualified M.D. Pathologists and have been instrumental in setting up a chain of Blood Banks and Pathology Diagnostic Centers in Mumbai. They have taken extensive training at various prestigious institutions on this subject and have lent their valuable support and technical expertise to this exciting field.

Collection Kit

ReeLabs recommends collection before the delivery of the placenta.  Cord blood is collected by gravity into blood bags.

Transportation Container

ReeLabs is based in Mumbai and only collects samples from in and around Mumbai. Since the sample usually takes about 1-2 hours to reach the laboratory facility, it is surrounded by ice packs during transportation.

ReeCord is the only facility that guarantees initiation of processing in the first six hours of collection of the cord blood or cord sample for patients in Mumbai and around. This ensures an unbeatable count, viability and potency of the processed stem cells.

Processing Method

ReeLabs follows the Ficoll-Hypaque method of processing cord blood.  This consists of a hard spin in a centrifuge to completely separate a few mL of fluid containing stem cells.

Components Stored

ReeLabs stores only the separated stem cells.

Storage Method

ReeLabs gives the option of storing the final cells in either vials or bags based on client preference.  Final storage is in the vapor phase of cryogenic nitrogen.

We have a state-of-the-art stem cell processing laboratory with the latest and most sophisticated technology in the heart of Mumbai. The laboratory is manned 24x7 by a well-qualified, highly competent and skilled staff, to receive, process, and store stem cell samples from all possible sources. The processing is done in a specifically designed “clean room” that has international levels of sterility and hygiene.  The laboratory is accredited by ISO.

ReeLabs net fee for enrollment, processing, and storage is Rs 69,000.  Discounts are offered per company policy.

Staff at ReeLabs have the requisite craft and expertise to process stem cells from cord blood, cord tissue, bone marrow, amniotic fluid, adipose tissue and other suitable sources as need be.
