Cell Safe Bank is located within a Medical Facility at 20.5 K on the Cairo-Alex Desert Road.

Business Experience

Around 2006, doctors in Egypt began offering cord blood banking under the name BabyCell Egypt, where they educated parents and collected cord blood, but sent the blood abroad to a partner laboratory. In 2009, a group of Egyptian doctors from different specialties grouped together and started CellSafe, the first Egyptian cord blood bank for families, and received a license from the Ministry of Health. By 2015 the bank had grown to house over 1000 cord blood units and had achieved accreditation from AABB. CellSafe is partnered with Famicord.

Processing Method

Cell Safe Bank employs fully automated processing systems from Sepax and AXP.

Licensing & Accreditation

Cell Safe Bank has AABB accreditation.

Clinical Experience

Cell Safe Bank has released two of their client's cord blood stem cells for transplants that cured Thalassemia and Severe Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID).
